When you go swimming, or for water play in your swim suit, your bare feet would look prettier with candy colored toenails. As you talk or rest your head on your hand, flaunt a gorgeous manicure.
That brings us to manicures and pedicures. You need both for summer. Why not make it a pampering session with your pals. Turn it into a manicure and pedicure party. That way, you can practice your nail art on one another.
All you need would be :
- Basins, each large enough for a pair of feet to soak in
- Basins, each large enough for a pair of hands
- Nail polish
- Base coat
- Nail polish remover
- Top coat.
- Nail clippers
- Nail brushes
- Work in pairs so that you can take turns to paint each other's nails.
Fill the basins with warm water. Set up chairs around a table. Put the foot basins below the table at the foot of each chair and the hand basins on the table so everyone can soak their hands and feet in these foot and hand baths. Add a few drops of liquid soap and essential oil into each bath. Have a selection of pure essential oils for everyone to choose from. Lavender, peppermint, grapefruit and geranium would be interesting oils your guests would love.
Remove nail polish with nail polish remover before you soak your hands and feet. Leave the windows and possibly the door open for maximum ventilation when you use the nail polish removers. Trim nails with a nail clipper if necessary.
After soaking your hands for 10 minutes, scrub under the nails with the nail brush. Rinse and towel dry hands. Then paint on the base coat. Followed by 2 coats of nail polish. Then paint on the nail art. Finish off with a top coat. Let each coat dry completely before applying the next.
Move on to the feet. Rinse and dry the feet. Do the base coat, 2 coats of nail color, the nail art and then the top coat, again letting each coat dry completely before putting on the next layer.
